Floral patterns are a common theme in Persian carpets. Many of the garden designs are reminiscent of private palaces and estates.
Trees and flowers all have individual meanings.
Spring flowers represent fertility.

Many of the patterns and their meanings have been passed down from generations.

Cyprus trees are one of the most common trees depicted in rugs.
They represent a connection between earth and heaven, stretching toward the sky. A sign of eternity because they are evergreen.

Leaves are a symbol of endless regeneration, the continuity of life and the generations passing on.

Pomegranates have connotations of harvest and abundance. The pomegranate is considered to be a symbol of luck and fortune. It also has the meaning of fertility and can be stylized in different forms within rugs.
